Accessibility
Cru Caviar wants shopping on our website to be straightforward for everyone. That is why we work to make it accessible and usable by as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device or the technology used to browse.
Our commitment
We are committed to making the content and functions of the website perceivable, operable, understandable and robust, taking as our reference the international WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines, the European standard EN 301 549 and the principles of Directive (EU) 2019/882, the European Accessibility Act, implemented in Italy by Legislative Decree 82/2022. Accessibility is not a goal to be reached once: it is a criterion we apply to every new page, product page and update.
Scope
This statement covers the website crucaviar.it as a whole: information pages, product pages, recipes, the customer account area, the cart and the checkout process, in both the Italian and the English version.
What we have done
- Clear semantic structure — headings, lists and page landmarks are marked up correctly, so that content remains understandable with a screen reader.
- Keyboard navigation — the main functions, including the menu, search, cart and forms, can be reached and used without a mouse, with a visible focus state.
- Contrast and legibility — text and background colours are chosen to provide adequate contrast; text remains legible when the page is enlarged.
- Alternative text — informative images have a text description; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technologies.
- ARIA labels and roles — buttons, fields and dynamic components, such as the mobile menu and the product galleries, expose the correct labels and roles.
- Responsive layout — the page adapts to smartphone, tablet and desktop and supports content zoom without loss of information.
Compatibility
The website is designed to work with recent versions of the most widely used browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge — and with the main assistive technologies, such as screen readers. For the best experience we recommend keeping your browser and assistive technology up to date.
Known limitations
Despite our ongoing effort, some content may not yet be fully accessible. In particular:
- components supplied by third parties and embedded in the pages, such as maps, videos and payment forms, follow the choices of their respective providers;
- some images uploaded in the past may have a text description that is not sufficiently meaningful;
- the carousels and product galleries are being reviewed to improve their keyboard operation.
Whenever we identify a barrier, we prioritise it according to its impact on users and work to remove it as quickly as possible.
Continuous improvement
We check the accessibility of the website periodically, combining automated testing with manual review, including keyboard navigation and screen readers, and we take accessibility into account from the design stage of every new section.
